Due to the higher Alcohol content (11.8 vs 8ish) some might call this apple wine. We called it cider because there are others that say apple wine is cider! Confused yet? Us too.
Recipe:
1/2 gallon apple juice (room temp)
1 cup sugar
1/2 t yeast hydrated with apple juice
Pour enough from the container of apple juice to have room for sugar, yeast and a bit of head room. Add sugar and mix until you don’t see grains settle to the bottom of the bottle. Add hydrated yeast and top with airlock. You should see activity (bubbles) in 6 to 24 hours. Wait at least 2 weeks for fermentation and enjoy.
In a couple of weeks, we will have a bottling and tasting of this cider, so stay tuned and be sure to subscribe and click the bell icon to be notified: http://www.youtube.city-steading.com/
